Rats

The common rat is the most common in the UK and is most reviled for spreading disease. Responsible for the spread of the bubonic plague and more recently leptospirosis (Weils Disease) among others, there are numbers estimated at 80-90million in the UK alone. Rats can cause damage to structures of buildings as well as to electrical systems and pipe work as they gnaw anything and everything in order to combat the continuous growth of their teeth. Rat activity can be reasonably suspected should there be signs of droppings, gnawing, burrowing or greasy marks from their oily bodies.
